| Company Name | CRINE | Crine (Cost Reduction Initiative for the New Era) is led by a steering committee whose members are senior executives from all sectors of the UK offshore industry - operators, contractors and suppliers. The Department of Trade & Industry, UKOOA and trade associations are also represented. The main objective of CRINE is to make it possible for the offshore industry to achieve a 30 percent or more reduction in the capital and operational costs of future oil and gas facilities development on the UK continental shelf. CRINE aims to achieve this by extracting unnecessary costs through the use of functional specifications and standard products, by reducing document complexity and making contractual relationships less adversarial, and by fostering a new culture throughout the industry which will ensure that once the tools are produced they will be picked up and used. By extracting unnecessary costs CRINE will help the UK in: *Maximising the remaining UKCS recoverable reserves *Making the UK offshore industry more competitive in the international market place *Sustaining UK employment at a higher level than would otherwise be possible. | |
