Any personal information provided to us is processed in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998; we are registration reference PZ5767546. We may transfer the personal data we hold about you for such purposes to any country, including countries outside the European Economic Area.

Use of Visitor Information
For each visitor to our website, our Web server automatically records the visitor's IP address and a referring URL which is analysed for future website modifications.
We record the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, subscribe to the EnergyWeb newsletter and complete surveys or polls in a database that is maintained in-house. We do not use e-mail addresses left by users in our energy sector Discussion areas for any purpose whatsoever. There has been no sale or release of this database to any outside party, nor do we envisage doing so - in the unlikely event that this happens we will contact you before we use your data for these new purposes to notify you of the policy change and to provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. The information we collect is used to notify consumers about updates to our Website, send out newsletters to subscribers and notify prize winners.
EnergyWeb.net and EnergyWeb.co.uk use cookies to store visitors preferences, record session information, such as items that consumers purchase, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, record past activity at the site in order to provide better service when visitors return, customize Web page content based on visitors' browser type or other information that the visitor sends.
If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending an e-mail message to privacy@energyweb.net or by contacting us at these addresses. Newsletter subscribers can remove their e-mail address from our mailing list by using the "Unsubscribe" utility in the Membership Console.
